What diseases can I get from the mosquitoes in Fresno County?
In Fresno County, West Nile and St. Louis Encephalitis viruses are transmitted by Culex mosquitoes each year. At this time, the bite of an infected Culex mosquito could transmit these viruses and make a person sick. These viruses are not transmitted by an Aedes aegypti mosquito bite.
